program locks up when selecting audio input card for mic

ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64Bit, I7 2.20GHZ quad core, 6GB DDR 3 RAM
Video : ati radeon HD 6770m / intel HD 3000m
Audio: intel digital (hdmi) & analog (everything els)
Mixxx 1.10.1 64Bit
 the step to reproduce problem is to goto preferances and in "input" select the system card for the mic and click aply (sysem should lock up )

would of left you logs but i do not know where to look to get the logs so that i could of posted them to you, But if you tell me ill be swift about getting them posted.

Not happening with me... Does the whole system lock up ? So gets frozen ?
Sounds like a driver problem then.
Can you change to real terminal with Ctrl + Alt + F1 for example ? If that's not frozen, can you login and check dmesg ?
