I don't know what "diaporama it" means, but openoffice 2.2 crashes for me when I try to close a *.ppt file. It opens writer on my machine as well. Not a huge bug...just an annoyance really.

ya exactly.

"Diaporama it" would mean (probably a bad translation from my French version sry) that you need to press "F5" the exit "F5" mode then close openoffice. If you don't go in "F5" mode, you wont be able to reproduce the bug.

Yes it is very annoying, but absolutely not critical !

I confirm this bug too on Ubuntu 7.04

Steps to reproduce:
1) double click the file (attached crash.ppt for example)
2) press F5 to start the slideshow
3) press ESC to stop the slideshow
4) press Alt+F4 to close OOo Impress

Then OOo crashes and starts recovery process which ended in starting Writer.

I solve only installing the original version of openoffice from the site.
