Bug Description
I have /usr/share/
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=awesome
Comment=Highly configurable framework window manager
NoDisplay=true
TryExec=awesome
Exec=awesome
Type=Application
Note that the "NoDisplay=true" makes awesome to not be displayed in lightdm.
After trying to find if the correct answer should be to drop NoDisplay=true from the desktop file or if lightdm should ignore this line, I am starting to think that the latter is the correct one, specially after reading http://
gdm3 also displays /usr/share/

From http:// standards. freedesktop. org/desktop- entry-spec/ latest/ ar01s05. html:
NoDisplay means "this application exists, but don't display it in the menus"
So we don't show these entries. A case where you might want to have a session with NoDisplay=true is a session that can be used for autologin, but is not allowed to be selected by a user.
Please contact the authors of this file and ask them to remove this line (not sure why it is there).
