java application menus don't stay open

java: java-1.6.0-openjdk-amd64

With some java applications menus don't stay open so they could not be selected with the mouse. It happens only when the application is maximized.

At the moment the problem appears with JOSM (https://josm.openstreetmap.de/) but not with ECLIPSE.

I think it's not an application bug, but a Java and Desktop problem because I've found other similars bugs :

The bug exists in OpenJDK 7 as well. I've tested it with Geogebra (version 4.0.34.0) and with Netbeans (though I forget the version number, it's the default one for Petra) on amd64.
