Bug Description

Hi.

With Inkscape 0.48+devel r12010 I experience terrible bad performance on dynamic offset. Even if it's a path that contains fewer than ten nodes, Inkscape uses like eight seconds to respond at all, making the feature crippled and not usable for use.

However - I have a file I'm working on, and the problem seems to only happends for one object in that file. I cannot reproduce this from a brand new file, so I cannot really tell why the performance is poor for that spesific file.

To reproduce the behaviour, open the file I attach and try to apply Dynamic Offset on the path.

Confirmed on Windows XP, Inkscape trunk revision 12010.

Not as slow as 8 seconds, but already noticeable with a simple rectangle with 4 nodes.
Note that the slowness also affects moving an object with a dynamic offset.

Changed in inkscape:
importance: Undecided → Medium
status: New → Triaged

I can still notice some lag and CPU fans revving on my stupidly fast computer.
