Bug Description

The GUI, or some parts of it anyway, doesn't scale with Windows' font scaling setting. It's as if some things are set in (physical) pixels, while other elements scale normally, like most other applications.

My laptop is 1920x1080 at 13 inch, and fonts at 96dpi are extremely hard to read. Yet, that is what Tagaini seems to be forcing the GUI at.

Hi,

Could you attach a screenshot of the issue so that I can see which elements do not scale? Also please note that Tagaini has moved to Github, you might want to report your issues there instead: https://github.com/Gnurou/tagainijisho/issues?sort=updated&state=open

Thanks!

Here you are. As you can see, it's mainly the toolbars (and the icons that look tiiiiny on my screen).

I will remember to post other bugs on github, if and when I find any.

Hi,

It seems that the font proportions are correct with respect to each another - what seems to bother you is that the icons are so small, and here there is not much we can do without the help of the system.

High-density displays should adapt the GUI elements size as needed. Unfortunately I don't think there is a way for applications to detect such configurations and adapt the layouting themselves... This could be an option in the settings, though. Feel free to open an issue on Github if you want this to be implemented in the future.

I just changed my 'forced' DPI setting and tested this. The text size changed everywhere I saw. Only some other GUI elements did not change. Environment was GNU/Linux, unlike original reporter.

I'm afraid icons and other bitmap resources do not scale with GUI on desktop systems. This will require me to add "bigger" icons support for high-density screens. I have opened an issue on Github at https://github.com/Gnurou/tagainijisho/issues/66 and will track this there - Tagaini does not use Launchpad anymore. I'm closing this issue, feel free to continue discussion on Github.
