Bug Description

When I click "Capture" the application crashes after a few secons or immedately..

I use this version because the stable application in the default ubuntu repository doesnt do anything after stopping the capturing when using MP4.

Only way to work with Kazam for me right now is: Use Kazam from the Ubuntu 12.10 default repository and use WebM as Codec :(

Thanks for this report. For a quicker resolve I'll require some more debug information and I'd like you to run kazam from Terminal with --debug switch and attach the output.

It seems that there is something wrong with detecting correct number of microphone inputs on your system. As a workaround, try also disabling capturing of microphone input.

This is an issue with sound sources not being set up properly or selected by default. Make sure you check preferences before you start recording videos with sound.

For now I've added an exception handler that will take care of this and turn off sounds.

Thanks, that quick fix should be enough for the start, because the normal user doesn't understand what's the problem.
So if it at least works with sound turned off, it is okay.

But can Kazam not take the defaults from Ubuntu?
When my sound output and sound input, that is currently active in the ubuntu configuration, works it should also work in Kazam, right?
