Bug Description

In my pidgin preferences, I have "Show system tray icon" set to "Always". Yet, in Unity (Ubuntu 12.10) the tray icon is only displayed some of the time and is not visible most of the time.

As a work around, I just "Lock to Launcher" the pidgin icon. I might come to prefer this method over having a tray icon, but thought I would report this behavior of pidgin not honoring that preference in the Unity desktop.
