This bug should be fixed in trunk first inspite of high impotance in stable.

It is not bug in oracle-sysvinit.

Oracle XE uses 'oper' unix goup to authenticate user as SYSOPER; 'dba' unix group to authenticate user as SYSDBA.

[root@ /]# addgroup oper
Adding group `oper' (GID 1000) ...
Done.
[root@ /]# gpasswd -a oracle oper
Adding user oracle to group oper
[root@ /]# groups oracle
oracle : oracle dba oinstall oper

SQL> conn / as sysoper
Connected to an idle instance.
