Bug Description

The screen tends to freeze when it is playing a Flash video in full screen and at other times. So far I have only had success with killing the gnome-session to unfreeze it. "gnome-shell --replace" does nothing except give the title warning together with trying to run dbus-launch.

Ubuntu 12.04 using Gnome Shell 3.4.1.

Changing to ati based on log containing Radeon entries (also has fglrx-entries though). Setting to 'confirmed' in accordance with https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Triaging

affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) → xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu)

Daniel Ejsing-Duun, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-ati REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

Unfortunately, I no longer have access to the computer on which I experienced this problem, so I can't test it.

Additionally, asking users to test with a development release of Ubuntu seems a bit drastic :).

In any case, thank you for reacting. I suppose the bug can be closed if the uploaded information is not enough on it's own.
