I didn't choose "xorg", ubuntu-bug set it for unknown reason. Please reassign to "lirc" package.

Now, since lirc obviously builds using pbuilder, this problem is basically resolved. Unless you can (and still is interested in) providing more input on the specific chroot environment use you are/were using.

I agree, I tested lirc in a pbuilder chroot environment
