Bug Description

Running: Raring 13.04 Daily Build

Problem Package: Unknown; suspect pm-utils

What I expect: When plugging laptop power cord back in after removing it, it should begin charging with no effect on performance.

What happens: Screen freezes to whatever is shown just before, whether that is a video or a blank screen. Fan goes into overdrive; suspect overloaded CPU. If there is music playing, it begins to skip and repeat ala broken record.

What bothers me is that it only happens when I plug it back in, not when unplugging it or turning it on. I looked for an already reported bug, but the only ones that I found were either for previous releases of Ubuntu or didn't match my experience.

I am running Ubuntu on a Samsung QX411-W02B.

Hello,

Do you have the Jupiter Applet installed ? If yes then remove it, reboot and you should not have this problem anymore, because Jupiter don't cohabitate well with linux kernel 3.7 (check the discussion in my bug similar to yours https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1091510)
