Bug Description

When an init script outputs a failed messages, it truncates the first couple of
letters from the message.

This only happens on framebuffer (as far as I know), not on an Xterm.

I cropped it a bit so it wouldn't be 1280 pixels wide, but it shows what it has
to show.

My bad, it happens whenever there's output from the executed command. Which
terminal doesn't matter.

Perhaps we should just hide the error messages from ntpdate (although this
should better be fixed (if possible), in LSB imho)

I think I have fixed this in lsb_3.0-1ubuntu7.

Note that you won't see the effect if your system is using usplash.
