When starting blender screen goes black and login returns

Bug Description

Blender seems to kill Xorg.

Extra attachments coming. I have added xsession-errors already though it doesn't seem to have anything useful.

Len Ovens, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.

As per https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases, Ubuntu 13.04 reached EOL on January 27, 2014.

Is this reproducible on a supported release?

Hi penvalch! I'm 99.9% certain it isn't happening in 14.04.4. Although i would need to test it to answer for 15.04 nor 15.10, blender being a popular package, i think we would know it by now if this bug was present in them.
