There is a dependency problem in ubuntu 12.04 LTS

apt-get install php5-mysqlnd

Add security also for universe, e.g. your apt sources list should have:

deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu precise-security main restricted universe multiverse

and not only

deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu precise-security main restricted
