Packaging guide unavailable: 404 Not Found

Following the links from http://developer.ubuntu.com/resources/tools/packaging/ to the Ubuntu Packaging Guide result in 404 Not Found errors. (For all versions, including the PDF.)

The Guide does not appear to be available online at any alternative addresses, either.

Indeed, it must have been an intermittent issue, as the link is now working. Strange.

I still have trouble accessing the guide. http://developer.ubuntu.com/resources/tools/packaging/ comes up all right, but none of the real content works. E.g., http://developer.ubuntu.com/packaging/html/ is defunct (404 error), as is http://developer.ubuntu.com/packaging/singlehtml and http://developer.ubuntu.com/packaging/ubuntu-packaging-guide.pdf.

Now that I gave it another try, it seems back online again. What's going on there? Intermittent server problems?

I just made the script which publishes the guide more robust. I'll mark this bug as 'incomplete' which will automatically close the bug in 60 days. If we should run into issues again, please set the status of the bug to 'confirmed' again and we'll revisit the situation. Let's hope this is fixed now. ;-)

(The issue I resolved was that under certain circumstances we could end up in a situation where the daily-built packages from a PPA could be unavailable, maybe due an issue with apt, and that the publishing step in turn would fail. I separated the download and publishing steps now, which will help with this specific issue. The script is run every hour, so we should find out if this breaks again.)
