random tribe always gives Empire

Bug Description
When playing single player (and 1 time out of 1 trial for multiplayer), if I select random tribe I always get Empire. As far as I can tell, this is only for the player - tribes for the AI are actually randomized. This has happened for a while (over several upgrades, that is), but I am currently on bzr6441 trunk release. I run, uh, either mint or ubuntu... Mint 13. Not like that probably matters...

Unfortunally I can not reproduce the behaviour you describe over here (Mageia Linux 3beta, 32bit). I started three singleplayer games and selected random as tribe. In first game my tribe was Atlantean in second it was Empire and in the last one it was Barbarians.
Does your system have any special settings, or do you e.g. have several widelands versions installed separatly or the like?
