Bug Description

During installation of this image: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20121211/raring-desktop-armhf+omap4.img on a pandaboard I have problems with partitioning a USB key on which I want to install Raring.
The USB key has no partition table.
When I get to the partitioning window, I create a partition table on the USB key, then I add a ext2 partition changing the size, the proposed size is 16009 MB, I change it to 8000, select / as mount point, confirm, but I get a 16009 MB partition created even if I changed it to 8000.
Tried this various times but the behaviour is always the same.

This happened also with this daily image of Raring: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20130113/raring-desktop-armhf+omap4.img.
But this time I was installing on a USB key with one single ext2 partition.
When I got to the partitioning window, I deleted the ext2 partition and then chose to add a 6 GB ext4 / partition, but after confirming I got a 16009 MB partition.

So I can affirm that if you delete all partitions on a USB key both from the beginning before starting install or after on the partitioning window partitioning does not work any more in ubiquity.

I can reproduce this bug also on today's Raging image: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20130211/raring-desktop-armhf+omap4.img.
1 - Format a USB key with one FAT32 partition.
2 - Start installing Raring on a Pandaboard from the SD card onto the USB key formatted at point 1.
3 - During install select "something else" from the installation type window.
4 - Delete the FAT32 partition, and try to create a smaller one, for instance I have a 16GB USB Key and I tried to create a 6GB ext2 / partition.
After confirming the creation of the 6GB ext2 partition you will be presented with a 16GB ext2 partion, the dimension of the partition is as big as the USB key and you will not be able to create two smaller ones, for instance.

Had same problem today with image: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20130314/raring-desktop-armhf+omap4.img.
I'm attaching the partman log file.
Also this time:
- Had a USB key with one ext2 partition
- Cancelled it so there was no partition
- Tried to add a partiton of 700MB but got one partiton of the total size of the USB key
could not create partitions of size smaller than the total size of the USB key.
