Bug Description
Emails in Thunderbird should have images in the email header that are unique for each contact.
Solution: Include the plugin for contact photos as default
Thunderbird, that is shipped with ubuntu should have a plugin as default similar to this one:
Display Contact Photo
https:/
it displays a gravatar identicon from gravatar (Identicon, MonsterID, Wavatar) if you have no picture
other options like Retro, vanillicon, VisiGlyphs or unicornify as replacement should be also implemented
Features should be:
- allow to set a default photo for people that do not have a photo (this would also override default image of gravatar etc.)
- allow to display nothing when no photo or default gravatar is returned
- allow displaying small photo in compose window
- allow displaying small photo in address book overview pane (list)
- show the photo of the recipient in the compose window
- lets you define a local folder on your harddrive with photos named as {email}.jpg
- support Faces

Hello Rubo,
Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a improvement idea for Thunderbird.
You made this bug report in 2012 and there have been several versions of Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.
Could you confirm that this idea has been implemented and that we can close the ticket?
Or, if it is still outstanding, could you let us know?
Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and Thunderbird better.
G
