Please run gnome-mplayer -v and attach the output. Have tried switchting the audio output?

Tried switching audio from headset to internal speakers had no effect. Occassionally I receive an error message that gnome-mplayer unexpectedly failed.

Log from gnome-mplayer -v attached

Sorry, I should have been a bit more precise. Start gnome-mplayer -v and then try to play a file. This should give you a lot of output - including output from mplayer. Especially the output from mplayer should be interesting for debugging this issue.

Yeah, sorry about that. I'm a newbie with this whole bug reporting thing.

Judging from the log that might be a mplayer bug. Could you try to run the mplayer command from the log without -af-add export=/tmp/mplayer-af_exportbmpucn:512 and -wid 0x2600025? That'd be

mplayer -channels 2 -quiet -slave -noidle -noconsolecontrols -nostop-xscreensaver -identify -volume 100 -softvol -msglevel all=5 -osdlevel 0 -delay 0.000000 -subdelay 0.000000 -subpos 0 -sub-fuzziness 0 -brightness 0 -contrast 0 -hue 0 -saturation 0 -nomsgcolor -nomsgmodule -nokeepaspect -ass -embeddedfonts -ass-font-scale 1.00 "/media/kitchen/6316-6AE5/Sasha Re Fa Si.MP3"

If that does work however, you might be affected by [1]. In that case it'd be great if you could try a file without spaces in its name.

Sorry for the delay. Taking out the spaces didn't matter. Either way, the error message was the same, plus it said " IllegaL instruction (coredumped)" and the output wasn't piping to file, it was going to the console (BTW, I'm using xterm)
