Bug Description

I have a folder synced with ubuntuone between two machines. A libreoffice document was edited and saved on machine1, and synced to machine2. At some point, the ubuntuone application must have crashed on machine1 and the file showed 'sync in progress' arrows on the icon. The file was then edited and save on machine2 so that at this point machine2 had the most recent timestamp.

Now the fun begins, as I could see that the timestamp on machine1 was 4pm, and the timestamp on machine2 was 8pm. I then realized the next morning that machine1 was no longer in sync and restarted ubuntuone. Keep in mind that the file was not open on machine1. The act of restarting ubuntuone somehow triggered syncing of the file from machine1 and gave it a timestamp of 7am. This file then overwrote the file on the ubuntuone server and propagated to machine2 overwriting all changes (which annoyingly, were substantial).

Had the file been deleted, I could have recovered from the trash, but since changes were applied, I lost the bulk of my data.
This seems to highlight a problem where deleting files one one machine might cause the files to be moved to the trash on all other machines, but data is still recoverable. On the other hand, simply overwriting files with an empty file of the same name would essentially propagate to complete data loss on all machines.

No .u1conflict files on either machine.
