Hello

in Kontact i think the following should be kubuntu default settings:

In Kontact go to Settings => Configure Notifications => Click Advanced => Check the two boxes:
"Show a message in a popup window"
"Use a passive window" that doesn't interrupt other work"

This is kind of how MS Outlooks default setting is. Its quite nice and think it should be default

Marking this as a wishlist item. However I don't remember Outlook popping up a message box to inform you that you have new mail. I remember an icon in the taskbar changing I think, but never a message unless you set this option. Don't know, been a long time since I last used Outlook (2000 maybe).

Hello

Outlook 2003 pops up with a transparent notification. Is a little nicer then Kontacts :( just because it previews the message and shows who its from etc.
