can't disable splash screen on startup

Bug Description

With the new Session app under menu->system->preferences->sessions the user can't prevent the splash screen to appare on startup and I think there is no way to choose a new image for the splash screen (but the last one is just a new feature request?).

Already disabled by default post-feisty.
