btsco loads libbluetooth1 but package requires libbluetooth2

Bug Description

Binary package hint: bluez-btsco

All from feisty 7.04

The btsco program was compiled against libbluettoth.so.1:

   $ btsco
   btsco: error while loading shared libraries: libbluetooth.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

but the btsco package requires bluetooth2 >= 3.8

The program should probably be re-compiled (or re-worked) to load the new libraries.

A work-around might be to make libbluetooth.so.1 a soft link to libbluetooth.so.2

Laurent,

$ dpkg -l bluez-btsco

i bluez-btsco 0.50-0ubuntu2 Bluez Bluetooth SCO tool

$ dpkg -l libbluetooth2
...
ii libbluetooth2 3.9-0ubuntu1 Library to use the BlueZ Linux Bluetooth sta

I purged bluez-btsco and libbluetooth2 and everything else related to bluetooth, then reinstalled just bluez-btsco (which requires libblutetooth2)

No change:
$ btsco
btsco: error while loading shared libraries: libbluetooth.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

What do you mean, you don't have this problem? Do you mean you get a libbluetooth.so.1 from one of these packages? or do you mean your btsco does not try to load libbluetooth.so.1?

Could it be that you have a copy of libbluetooth.so.1 from some other source on your system?

No I don't have this problem on my system and libbluetooth1 is not installed either..

Are you sure you don't have another version of btsco installed on your system (ie in /usr/local)?

what says: which btsco ?
