Bug Description

mutt (1.521-5) crashes very often when fetching IMAP-headers. "Hole Nachrichten-Köpfe... 187/241 (77%)Speicherzugriffsfehler" (Same problem with mutt-patched)

This happens with several IMAP-servers on several mailaccounts.

I compiled mutt agains Berkeley DB 4.8.30 and this does not happen. So I think the real problem is libtokyocabinet8 (1.4.37-6.1) which is used fr the headercache.

Using:

DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS"

Same Problem on:
DISTRIB_ID=LinuxMint
DISTRIB_RELEASE=12
DISTRIB_CODENAME=lisa
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Linux Mint 12 Lisa"

in Ubuntu 12.10 compiling mutt with

$./configure --enable-imap --enable-hcache --with-bdb --without-tokyocabinet --with-included-gettext --sysconfdir=/etc --with-ssl --with-gnutls

works well. Also charctersets are working well. Under Linux Mint 12 i can't get the charactersets working.

Works also unter linux Mint 12. libncursesw5-dev was missing.

I would appreciate, if the mutt-package would not longer be compiled with libtokyocabinet-support....

In 1.5.21-6.4ubuntu2.1, if you edit debian/rules, and change HCACHE_DB to from tokyocabinet to anything else (be that bdb, gdbm or qdbm), rebuild the package and install the new package, the crash goes away. This is almost certainly a bug in libtokyocabinet. Note that I also had to add --enable-external-dotlock to the configure switches for some reason, otherwise the package doesn't build, at least with mutt 1.5.21-6.4ubuntu2.1. Please change mutt to rely on Berkeley DB or gdbm instead of tokyocabinet.
