Footnote won't start if .local/share/footnote is missing

Bug Description
If footnote's configuration/ storage directory is missing, the application crashes with a segmentation fault.

This only happens when view-mode is set to Miller view. When set to Note view, Footnote starts as expected and the Welcome screen is shown.
