Worked like a charm in Edgy.

I can confirm that the Espon drivers for the R220 are also missing from the kubuntu-7.04-desktop-amd64 ISO. I'm back on Edgy for the moment.

I checked the problem against an Ubuntu (not Kubuntu) Feisty machine that was upgraded from Ubuntu Edgy and the bug doesn't appear.

Thankyou for the information. By upgrading, I take it that you mean
using Ubuntu's built in upgrade feature?

Yes. The built-in automatic upgrade from Edgy to Feisty. That machine still has the drivers, I'm not sure if it's because the machine is Ubuntu and not Kubuntu or if it's because it's an upgrade that the printer driver is still there but either way, the printer driver is still there on that machine.

I'm trying the upgrade path tomorrow. So fingers crossed.

On one machine I did the automatic upgradefrom Edgy Kubuntu to Feisty Kubuntu - no problems at all, Printer (CX5700) still worked..
On another machine (different printer (CX5900)) I installed the Kubuntu Desktop CD straight onto a blank partition, - No Drivers for the CX series

I'm upgrading from Edgy to Feisty at the moment; just slightly over 2
hours left. Hopefully it will work as since I've went back to Edgy
amarok will not work (it will if I remove the amarok directory from
within the .kde folder) and ktorrent is very unstable as it will crash
after an hour or two. I cannot remember if it was like this before the
previous upgrade as I was not on Edgy for long.

I upgraded from Edgy to Feisty and my Epson Stylus CX7700 stopped working. It is recognized, I can send pages to print but it just spits out blank paper, and does not stop unless I turn the printer off.

not sure if it is the same problem...

I have the same pb : my laptop is on Ubuntu (not Kubuntu) Feisty. I upgraded from Edgy to Feisty with the CD 'Desktop'.
My stylus photo c830u is shared by a win xp server.
I don't find the driver on the CUPS list.

I have the same problem. So, I upgrade from OpenPrinting, by instructions of Bug #99372, but the printer don't works. It prints blank pages only. I made a fresh Feisty install. In Edgy it worked.

Install foomatic-db-gutenprint package under Edgy for working CX drivers. I had to install using gnome tools even though I'm using kde (kcontrol did not work first try so I gave up)
