Blurry, low resolution or "no app icon" after installing an app

After installing a new application, Slinghot doesn't show the correct icon for any apps I've installed. It either shows a blurry, pixelated, or no icon at all (using the "app-has-no-icon" gear icon.

Same here, when I install programs I always get no application icon in slingshot until its restarted. However the proper icon does show when you search in slingshot, and it shows in plank if you drag it to the dock. Screenshot attatched, the two gear icons are apps I just installed.

I've noticed this only seems to happen in the grid view. In the category view the icons always show correctly when I install an app. I can switch back and forth between the grid and category views and grid shows the gear, category shows the proper icon. Grid only shows new app icons when its restarted.

I've updated the bug description to be more easier and clearer to read. And maybe Slingshot should restart itself after an app has been installed?

I'm not sure this bug affects me, or if it's the same bug. For me after I install a new application, if I go to the Slingshot-menu, it often just freezes my whole screen. I can move the mouse, but the screen freezes and I can't click anywhere. The Slingshot-menu stays on top. I can do a CTRL-ALT-DEL to get the logout-screen to show up, but I can't click it. ESC works to get it to go away though. After a minute or two, the screen flickers fast and then the Slingshot-menu is clickable, so I can close it and open it as normal.
