ubuntu part will only work su to root, gives recurring error, can't find .conf

I don't see why it has to run as root, can't it just sort out the permissions it needs when installing? also gives this error every few seconds "sh: 1: /usr/share/droidpad/adb/adb: Permission denied" whether it's working or not. It does work though, so thank you, good work. Ubuntu 12.04, HTC Desire S. Installed from your PPA

Suggestions
Would be good to see a standard gamepad layout with choice of either eight direction or analogue on left (with phone sideways), start/select top middle, and ABCDEF buttons on right. also would be nice if screen tap worked as left mouse click on mouse mode, like the pad on laptops.
