Bug Description

Hi,

My suspend script doesn't work since a few weeks :

$ veille
Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.ChildExited: Launch helper exited with unknown return code 1

$ more /bin/veille
dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=org.freedesktop.Hal /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer or
g.freedesktop.Hal.Device.SystemPowerManagement.Suspend int32:0

$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS
Release: 12.04

The other bugs I've found were for packagekit but I didn't have this package. I tried to install it and reboot and the bug is still here.

That's totally unrelated to package kit. Your script uses hal which is deprecated since multiple releases. The current way to do power management is via upower
