nvidia-experimental loads wrong kernel module

I installed nvidia-experimental-304 and tried it. Then I installed nvidia-experimental-310 and when I rebooted X failed to start.
Kernel module and Xorg driver were different versions. For some reason kernel tries to load 304 driver.

I installed both modules using jockey-gtk, so this bug may be related to it instead of nvidia-experimental-310. Anyway the I got X running when I removed nvidia-experimental-304. Now I'm using 310 version.

I got this too, by "activating" 304 with jockey and then, without restarting, activating 310 instead. Next reboot, X failed. Running 'startx' produced this:

Error: API mismatch: the NVIDIA kernel module has version 304.48,
but this NVIDIA driver component has version 310.14. Please make
sure that the kernel module and all NVIDIA driver components
have the same version.

Proprietary drivers version 304 failed to install (from jockey). I didn't bother to torubleshoot any further so i tried 310 instead.

After rebooting my machine, lightdm failed to start
