The logo of Ubuntu in the default Ubuntu Firefox start page should link to http://ubuntu.com

Wouldn't you say that's an evolving standard for logos?

2) It's something that logos on the web often do, so it doesn't surprise the user when it doesn't.

OK, the earlier fix wasn't approved due to too much (irrelevant) changes, but I've sent Phil another. But a thought was born in my head: should this fix be done also for the relevant files in /trunk/xubuntu and /trunk/kubuntu? If so, please let me know.

Hi Eero, your patch will mean that the file will no longer be Valid XHTML 1.0 Strict due to the "border" attribute.

You could get around this by using CSS to control the appearance of the page. If the anchor tag is to directly include an image then an alt tag should be supplied (and left blank if appropriate)

Hi Dean, you're probably right, but I tried several different variations and just couldn't get the css to control the borders of the picture. I wonder if I did something wrong.

I'm not familiar with such commands that make a link just appear somewhere in a specified (I think it's done by location of upper-left and lower-right corner) box, so if someone is that could be a solution.

Here's anyway the patch with the alt tag included.

I've committed a fix in rev 3749. It introduces a string to translate (a
tooltip saying "Visit the Ubuntu website").

(My earlier suggestion should probably have been border:none; rather
than border-width:0)
