Bug Description

Using Ubuntu 12.04 and Open Shot 1.4.3. Whenever adding any files to a project, whether it be a video file, a .wav file, or even a .png or .jpg, Open Shot pops up a window saying that it doesn't support that file format.

The link you provided only applies to video files, and as I explained in the bug report, I even get that message when trying to add a .wav, or a .jpg, or a .png, not just video files. Video files which otherwise play fine everywhere else, by the way. But nevertheless, it's popping up the message on all files, not just video files.

The instructions are valid for all file types. That is the only way to verify file support, whether they play in something like Totem or another player doesn't help, as OpenShot uses libav & melt to provide file support.

Same issue :
When I try to add a file by dragging it to the project fils window, I get an error popup :
title : Unsupported file type
message : OpenShot does not support this file type.
But the files ARE added to the project and work well.

When I add the same files by right clicking + Import files... (or by using the "+" icon in the toolbar), I don't get the error.

So the issue only concernes the drag&drop, for me.

OpenShot 1.4.0
Ubuntu 12.04 + LXDE
grag&drop from : PCManFM 0.9.10

Hi,
Two tracks/things to do.
- always update your version of OS with the last one. See here how to do that : https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1850 and this one could be useful : https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1861
- do what Andy recommand in the post #1
Another thing about your file : could you provide some information about it ? See here how to do that : http://openshotusers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=371&start=0&hilit=identify
Thanks.
