Pantheon-Files icons change size when clicking on an icon themes folder

Whilst navigating to /usr/share/icons/elementary and browsing through the icons to fix transmissions out of place indicator icon (hint, hint ;D), I found that as I was clicking on a folder that designated the icon sizes within (16, 22, 24 and so on) all the icons in Files were changing to those sizes (or at least getting bigger till they stopped at about 36/48 pixels). Using Files in columns view, as I was at the time and always do, it became unusable as the scrollable area was massive and the column sizes cannot be changed.
