Can't export as PDF or Save through File menu in Libreoffice

Bug Description
1) Ubuntu 12.10
2) libreoffice-writer 1:3.6.2~
3) When I go to the File menu and click "export as PDF," "Save" or "Save as," I expected a file window to prompt me to name and save the file.
4) Nothing happens, file is not saved and no file window appears. I'm able to Ctrl+S and have the file window popup, and I can click the Export PDF button and it works. I tried a handful of documents and continue to have to use keyboard shortcuts or buttons.
