Bug Description

When I was installing Feisty Beta, it shows during installation list of application profiles to import from
(Gaim and others) from my other partitions (where I have installed Gentoo and Edgy).

But in Feisty Final installer I see only this message:
"There were no users or operating systems suitable for importing from".
That's strange, because the situation was exactly the same as when I was installing Feisty beta.

Update: This bug is still present, even in Jaunty final.

Did you elect to format any of the partitions that these operating systems are installed on?
Are these operating systems using separate home directories on /dev/hdX devices, instead of using UUIDs or /dev/sdX devices?

If neither of these questions are true, would you mind running the installer again with the --debug option and attaching /var/log/installer/debug and /var/log/syslog to this bug report? Detailed instructions can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity/AttachingLogs .

Thanks!

No, I was not select any of those partition to format.
No, they all have home directories on the same partition as their root filesystem.
I will run installer later and post logs here...

I can repeat the problem on another machine:
The difference is that there is Windows XP installed on first partition,
and I was installing Ubuntu onto another:

1) With Feisty Beta installer: There is option to import settings from Windows XP
2) With Feisty Final installer: No partitions to import settings from was found...

Note: In both case I have chosen to format only new partition for Ubuntu, not the Windows one.

Attaching the logs...

Still the problem in Jaunty final:
"There were no users or operating systems suitable for importing from"
is displayed, but I have 3 more partitions (on the same disk as target Jaunty partition)
with installed previous Ubuntu releases (Intrepid, Hardy and Gutsy).
