Bug Description
This is the same bug as Bug #995699, but for 12.10. Also, on said bug report, it seems we've come to a conclusion that the window manager (Compiz) is causing the problem, which is why this is filed for compiz.
I'm running a fully updated 12.10 amd64. It seems pretty much everyone using Unity and Adobe Flash Player has this problem, as it dates back several years, versions, and hardware configurations. I must conclude that this is mainly a software problem. I'm also aware that this bug may already be well-known by the community.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Open a flash file. Be it a game, video, website, etc.
2) Right click on the flash player and select "Settings"
3) Try to click on something in the dialog box such as a checkbox or a tab
What is expected to happen:
The dialog box responds to user input, e.g. checking a checkbox or switching to a different tab.
What happens instead:
The dialog box does not respond. Nothing happens when the user interacts with it. The user must refresh the page to exit the dialog box.
I'm fairly certain that compiz is causing this problem. When using any other window manager, e.g. metacity, this problem does not occur. It only occurs when using compiz. A problem such as this with any other window manager may indicate a problem with that particular window manager. This bug is not a problem affecting users of kwin, mutter, metacity, etc. nor is it a problem solely with Adobe Flash Player.
