Bug Description

If there are no active application on the workspace Super-W does not start the spread and the key-presses aren't caught and ignored.

This is inconsistent and could lead to confusion.

I think this is quite intentional. What should Spread show without windows ?

I agree that it doesn't make sense to start Spread (as there isn't anything to show).

But shouldn't the key events be caught and ignored by compiz instead of being passed on? (i.e. Super-W on an empty desktop will start the nautilus file search (bottom right-hand corner a text-box appears).

This is inconsistent, a keybinding might sometimes pass on the key events and others not.
