cyrillic fonts in emacs

Bug Description
emacs can't display cyrillic fonts in feisty, having a system up to date and having installed mule-ucs and emacs-intl-fonts.
It's maybe an unrelated problem, but the file "/usr/share/

This didn't solve my problem either.
Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 beta?
