Bug Description

Start gimp
  Create a new image
  Add an alpha channel
Draw a squiggle in black on white on image
  Run Filters/Edge-Detect/Difference of Gaussians

Expected: image should be shown that contains edges of sqiggle
Actual: image vanishes and is replaced by an all transparent image

Filters/Edge-Detect/Edge works as expected

Filters/Edge-Detect/Difference of Gaussians works as expected if one removes the alpha channel from image.
