Bug Description

Pinta-1.5-preview-20121103 on Windows XP:
1. Rectangle Select and mark some area on canvas.
2. Press BACKSPACE and you will notice selection gets filled with foreground color. This is OK, just for demonstration what happens if BACKSPACE is pressed.
3. Repeat step 1 on another position on canvas.
4. Select Text object and click inside in step 3 made selection.
5. Type in some text like: test and then press BACKSPACE.
What happens? Whole rectangle selection gets filled (just like in step 2). I expect last character from from text object to be deleted.

This bug still exists for me in 1.4.

I am using Xubuntu 13.10 and pinta 1.4.

New Image
Select a region
Select text
type a few letters
press backspace
fills selection black

Desired behaviour: remove last character

Note that this does not happen if you type right after starting pinta, only after you at some point select a region.

This bug was fixed in Pinta 1.5, not 1.4. You can use the daily builds PPA to get the latest development version of Pinta 1.5
