I can confirm this. For me, this doesn't occur when calc is started directly. However, this occurs when a .ods or .xlsx file is opened from the dash or from nautilus.

This seems to happen to me on nearly every occasion. Any ideas about how I can access stoff that only appears in the menus in the mean time? Many commands I frequently use don't have toolbar icons.

I'm not sure whether this bug is related to bug 1045353, which I also experience. However, I did notice this bug after experiencing the other one.

I found a workaround: Clear the environment variable UBUNTU_MENUPROXY using a command similar to the following:

UBUNTU_MENUPROXY= libreoffice

Same here. It doesn't hapen ALL the time, but mainly when editing files that are not .od*. Sometimes it helps to switch to another window and back again.
