Bug Description

In Empathy 3.6.0.3) on Ubuntu 12.10 using gnome 3.6 there isn't any way to auto-connect or see the channels that you normally connect to.

This could either be due to the fact that no menu appears or alternatively that no option for IRC appears in the contact list. I have to manually connect to each channel through NickServ instead.

There was a dialog for this in Ubuntu 12.04 for Empathy IRC. I hope that makes sense...

In the old version of Empathy you could configure a set of channels that you normally connected to and whether you wanted to auto-connect or not. If you didn't have it set to auto-connect you could just click on "Connect to Chatrooms" or something like that and it would connect to your favourites.

what happened to that :(

Thanks

I believe that this status is incorrect. I don't even have the option to modify accounts in Gnome 3.6 Ubuntu 12.10. See attached images for a reference. Like I said I was able previously to edit and connect to different accounts but it seems you have completely hidden all these options.

@Bilal: I'm not sure I fully understand your question?

Are you asking me if these IRC channels appear in my favourites? If so no they don't.

there is an option to select the favt channels and than the auto connect works.

There is no menu for this in Gnome. In fact there is no menu in Gnome at all so I'm not sure what you mean? When you add an IRC connection it just connects to NickServ. That's the only way that I have been able to join rooms (through NickServ).

Unfortunately I don't see this option as you indicated? It used to be there in 12.04 but not now.

It was suggested that I report this upstream in Gnome so it has been done here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=689372
