Bug Description

Start the computer with external display donnected (HDMI)
I'm able to log in to Unity, but it freezes. mouse moves around but does not interact with anything.

I'm able to log in into another console.

No freeze with kernel: Linux 3.6.0-030600rc7-generic #201209232235 SMP

However, I can not show anything on laptop display. it stays blank, if the HDMI cable was connected during boot.
