The latest release hangs when it reaches the checking for ubiquity stage after running sudo relinux config

Did you keep relinux open after? If so, is it still hanging? It usually hangs around non-installed packages as it needs to install them (and it can take some time). If it's still running, try running:
sudo apt-get install ubiquity
and see the log of that.
