Bug Description

Let me start by saying thanks for a great free product.

My small problem is that when I restart my computer it deletes the launcher icons, that i created for some text files, that I put next to the firefox and evolution icons at the top.

Thanks

I have found that the launcher icons at the top are a link to 'real' icons located somewhere else. If I create a launcher icon, then drag it to the top to create a new launcher icon, and finally delete the original launcher icon ... it also deletes the new launcher icon I created --- only after a reboot.

This still sounds like a bug to me even though it may not be one.

Thank you for your bug. That seems to work correctly on my desktop. Could you describe some steps to get the bug?

Here are the steps I do to get the error:

Right click on the desktop and select Create Launcher
Create a file launcher for a directory location (Not a file in a director Ex. file:///home/willz06jw/ )
Drag the newly created icon to the gnome-panel at the top of the screen (Next to the firefox, evolution, and help buttons)
Move the icon in between the evolution and help icons.
Delete the first icon you created
Restart the computer

The problem that I noticed was:
The new top icon stays on the top gnome-panel when you delete the original on the desktop, but after you reboot the new top icon disappears.

(Also, if you do not delete the first icon you created, the new icon comes back as a gray square with an X in it.)

That doesn't look like really a bug, you link the icon to a launcher and then you delete the launcher, since the target is not available the icon is not listed. What else do you expect?

I would expect the icon to be deleted when the launcher is deleted or to insert a warning when you create the icon or when you delete the launcher. I know this may sound trivial, but it took me a while to realize that the icon that was created was not a launcher.

Also, I may need to make a new bug for this, but the grey square with an X in it appears even when the old launcher is not deleted.

Thanks and sorry if this is trivial
