Bug Description
I went to Computer->System Configuration-
Windows networking. The program told me to install SMB support. I doubt most
desktop users are going to know all the steps needed to get the job done: what
is SMB networking, what set of packages need to be installed, how to find those
packages, and how to install those packages.
I think the program ought to instead ask to install the necessary packages and
then do the job (calling some installer application that quits immediately after
it is done satisfying the request). Then the check mark can be turned on and
off with impunity.

Thanks for your bugreport.
This problem is already fixed in the current development version of ubuntu
(hoary). It pops up a dialog with the option to download and install the needed
packages automatically.
thanks,
Michael
