Bug Description

The latest update of my Edgy (i386) made nvidia-glx fail to load at boot time. I've already removed and reinstalled nvidia-glx, that didn't do the trick. With the older kernel 2.6.17-10-generic everything works fine.

Have you got the nvidia-glx from another source than the Ubuntu archive?

Could you please attach the outputs of /var/log/Xorg.0.log and /etc/X11/xorg.conf ?

the nvidia-glx is the one from the ubuntu repos.
here the xorg.conf. i'll post the log tomorrow or so, as i can't reproduce the crash right now, because the machine is in use.

if it helps, the actual xorg.0.log without errors, as i have the 2.6.17-10-generic kernel running.

Something in your setup was broken, most likely you didn't have the latest restricted-modules installed. Closing the bug.
