Bug Description

Using shortcut Ctrl-Alt-0 doesn't work to minimize window. It's show in System Settings->Keyboard shows as default.
After testing to find what key combination actually minimized window it was Ctrl-Alt-KP0 (keypad 0) that minimized window.
When changed minimize window shortcut by hand to Ctrl-Alt-0 it started working and after that Ctrl-Alt-KP0 didn't work anymore.

Ubuntu 12.10
Unity 6.10.0
gnome-control-center 1:3.4.2-0ubuntu19

I can also confirm this. However, I am not sure if it is not the intended behavior, in which case maybe a better way to indicate the shortcut in the control center should be found.

Seems that if i change shortcut to same Ctrl-Alt-0 it works but after reboot it's not working anymore and I have to do it again.

The design is for Ctrl+Alt+number pad 0 to minimize windows.

The reboot problem has been reported in bug 1064872.

Did you read my comments? If i change minimize to Ctrl+Alt+0 it's reseted to Ctrl+Alt+KP0. Also keyboard shortcuts settings show minimize shortcut as Ctrl+Alt+0 even if it's Ctral+Alt+KP0.
So i'm really wondering how this bug can be invalid?

What I mean is that Ctrl-Alt-KP0 showing as Ctrl-Alt-0 in keyboard shortcut is still a bug even if that shortcut reboot thingy is reported in another bug.

I ran into this just now myself. It's pretty confusing. If I didn't find the AskUbuntu entry http://askubuntu.com/questions/56170/unity-hotkey-for-minimizing-current-window I wouldn't have known to disguish key 0 from KP0. Now that I know, it makes sense. But I think the 'Keyboard' control panel should report 'Minimize Window' as Ctrl-Alt-KP0, not Ctrl-Alt-0. If X Input disguises them as different keys, then it should tell the user that's inportant.

So I don't think this one's Invalid. It may perform as you expect, but that's only once you have the right expectations.

I agree with Jussi and Mike from comment #4, #5 and #6. You need to think of this from a new users perspective who is new to Ubuntu and perhaps not as technical. I was a little confused why Ctrl-Alt-0 was not minimizing the windows, then realized they correct keystroke is CTRL-ALT-KP0.

This is completely misleading, we should at least fix the dialogue so it clearly states (Ctrl - Alt - Keypad 0).

when seeing Ctrl - Alt - 0 one will assume that both 0 on the keypad and 0 on the numberbar will minimize the window.

It's almost two years to the day of the original post and in Ubuntu Gnome 14.10, this has not been fixed.
