Bug Description

Some times my system dies with lines on the screen just after I close the screen.I don't know the reason but it happens once in 5-7 lid closing tasks.I just upgraded to 12.10 with some hopes of stability but even now it dies and I usually get crash report saying suspend/resume failure. Also my audio device is consuming 1W power even it is idle where as fglrx consumes only 50-100mW .
Please tell me how can I optimize the power consumption of my audio device (like keeping it off when ever not needed etc)

Thanks in advance
sravan

sravan kumar bonthala, as per https://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/U32U/#support_Download_8 an update is available for your BIOS (208). If you update to this, does it change anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Thank you for your understanding.
